RACE to Wellness

The Race to Wellness: A Path to Wellness Through the Virtues Framework

Are You Ready to Train, Prepare, and Repeat?

How Does Growing in Virtue Support Your Wellness?

How often have you found yourself knowing what you should do for your health, yet struggling to make it part of your daily life? You may have read articles, learned about nutrition, or tried to build healthier habits, but sometimes old patterns find their way back.

The challenge is often not knowing what to do. It is learning how to turn what you know into consistent action.

That is where The Race to Wellness begins.

Wellness is an ongoing process—a personal journey that asks us to understand where we are, recognize what influences our choices, create new routines, and develop the ability to sustain them.

But there is another essential part of the journey: virtue.

Virtue can help bridge the gap between knowing what is good for us and consistently choosing it. It can become the bridge that helps us move beyond the cycle of old habits and toward sustainable, lasting transformation.

First, Why Do We See Wellness as a Race?

Wellness has always been related to coaching and training, and there is a reason: we need to prepare ourselves for it.

Caring for your body is something so deep and meaningful, but how do you tailor your wellness journey to your own needs?

Our concept of The Race to Wellness will allow you to tailor your path to your needs, your circumstances, and your own journey.

But where does everything need to start?

In your mindset.

Before creating new routines and making lasting changes, we need to prepare ourselves mentally for the journey ahead.

Training for Lasting Change

When you decide to sign up and run this race, preparation is everything:

  • Make a decision and set a goal: You need to have a target, make a decision, and define a path before you begin. Why? Because you have already tried to change, and it has been hard. So this time, take a step back and prepare the ground before you take action.
  • The Power of Repetition: Consistent repetition in a steady context can help behaviors become more automatic. But true long-term maintenance also requires a steady stream of positive motivation and a clear “why.”
  • Understanding the Course: You have to learn to recognize the signals and situations that trigger old behaviors, placing guardrails around your environment before old habits pull you back in.

The R.A.C.E. Framework: Your Training Blueprint

To help you navigate this journey step-by-step, we use the R.A.C.E. framework—a practical guide designed to help you prepare, train, and run toward sustainable health.

Stage What It Means Your Action Step
R – Recognize Clarity begins here. Acknowledging that something needs to change. Listen to the signs your body is giving you or pay attention to recent health assessments.
A – Assess Looking at the full picture of your health across Body, Mind, and Soul. Evaluate how emotional well-being, lifestyle factors, and your daily environment impact your overall balance.
C – Create Building your personalized, realistic blueprint for renewal. Focus on one manageable change at a time—small steps that yield meaningful, lasting results.
E – Empower Reaching the stage where you develop the discipline, consistency, and resilience to sustain your journey. Sustain your momentum by anchoring your daily actions in deeper personal meaning and virtue.

The Vessel of Wellness: Body, Mind, and Soul

As you train for this race, it is essential to look at health through a holistic lens—treating your life like a carefully tended vessel:

  • The Body is the Container: How we treat our physical health reflects how much we value the gift of our physical vessel.
  • The Mind represents the Flowers: Just as you would remove wilting flowers from a decorative arrangement to protect the rest, you must actively clear out negative thoughts that drain your energy.
  • The Soul is the Water: It is the invisible, driving force that sustains everything, giving true meaning and outward reflection to your daily choices.

How Does Growing in Virtue Support Your Wellness?

Growing in virtue can help us strengthen the qualities we need to make healthier choices consistently.

Virtue is the bridge that connects your goal with your reality. There is a deeper reason as to why you cannot change certain behaviors.

Once you begin to see the root of the issues, you will be better prepared, and instead of focusing on what you are doing wrong, you could focus on what you could do better!

It gives us an opportunity to connect what we know with what we choose to do every day. An opportunity to recognize our weaknesses and ask for the graces we need.

Opening your mind and heart to a better future starts with making the decision that you need something better.

In this way, virtue becomes part of our training—helping us move from awareness to action and from action to lasting change.
